For this tutorial you will need to have basic knowledge of Paint Shop Pro. (My illustrations and instructions are written using version 7, but you should be able to comprehend with any version).

Outlines
Open a transparent background canvas 100 X 100 for flower ONLY

Open a transparent background canvas 200 X 200 for stem and leaves ONLY

Fill
Stem:
Activate your magic wand and click inside of
stem.
Flood fill with color #AAC4AA.
Click on 'Selections', Then click 'Float'. Click on 'Effects', then '3D Effects', then 'Cutout' using these settings:
Vertical 2, Horizontal 1, Opacity 100, Blur 3.8, Shadow Color #456E44. (Fill interior box UNCHECKED)
Deselect and save.

Leaves:
(Upper right leaf) -
Activate your magic wand. While holding down your 'Shift' key, click inside of upper part of leaf and the three tiny areas close to the tip of the leaf.
Flood fill with color #AAC4AA.
Click on 'Selections', Then click 'Float'. Click on 'Effects', then '3D Effects', then 'Cutout' using these settings:
Vertical 2, Horizontal 1, Opacity 100, Blur 5, Shadow Color #456E44. (Fill interior box UNCHECKED)
While still selected, click on 'Effects', Noise, Add 10%.
Deselect.
Activate your magic wand and click inside of lower part of leaf.
Flood fill with color #AAC4AA.
Click on 'Selections', Then click 'Float'. Click on 'Effects', then '3D Effects', then 'Cutout' using these settings:
Vertical 2, Horizontal 1, Opacity 100, Blur 15, Shadow Color #456E44. (Fill interior box UNCHECKED)
While still selected, click on 'Effects', Noise, Add 10%.
Deselect and save.

(Left leaf) -
Activate your magic wand. While holding down your 'Shift' key, click inside of upper part of leaf and the three tiny areas close to the tip of the leaf.

Set your stem aside and bring up your flower head outline.

Flower petals (one at a time):

Petal #1 - Activate your magic wand and click inside far left flower petal only.

Flood fill with color #F2D2D7. Click on 'Selections', Then click 'Float'. Click on 'Effects', then '3D Effects', then 'Cutout' using these settings:

Vertical 2, Horizontal 1, Opacity 100, Blur 12.5, Shadow Color #C4798D. (Fill interior box UNCHECKED)
DO NOT DESELECT!
Click on Layers, New Raster layer.
Using illustration below, pixel in the line down center of petal using Color #B5596D.

After you've pixeled in the line, click on 'Effects', 'Blur', 'Gaussian Blur', 1.00
Merge, Merge visible.
Deselect and save.

Petal #2 - Activate your magic wand and click inside flower petal (second to the left) only.

Flood fill with color #F2D2D7. Click on 'Selections', Then click 'Float'. Click on 'Effects', then '3D Effects', then 'Cutout' using these settings:

Vertical 2, Horizontal 1, Opacity 100, Blur 12.5, Shadow Color #C4798D. (Fill interior box UNCHECKED)
DO NOT DESELECT!
Click on Layers, New Raster layer.
Using illustration below, pixel in the line down center of petal using Color #B5596D.

Merge, Merge visible.
Deselect and save.

Flower top:
Activate your magic wand and click inside top section of flower.
Flood fill with color #3C2E11.
Click on 'Selections', Then click 'Float'. Click on 'Effects', then '3D Effects', then 'Cutout' using these settings:
Vertical 4, Horizontal -4, Opacity 100, Blur 15, Shadow Color #976703. (Fill interior box UNCHECKED)
While still selected, click on 'Effects', Noise, Add 15%.
While still selected, add tiny dots all over the top for a "seedy" effect. (See example below)
Deselect and save.

Now you're ready to put the two together. Either open a new transparent canvas 300 X 300 (to give you plenty of room) and copy and paste both the flower head and the stem to that canvas making sure the flower head is the top layer.....OR Bring up your stem and click on 'Image', 'Canvas Size' and make both the width 300 and height 300. Then copy and paste your flower head on to the stem making sure the flower head layer is the top layer. Move the flower head around whereever suits you. Then click Merge, Merge Visible.

Save as a gif and you're finished!
