For this tutorial you will need to have basic knowledge of Paint Shop Pro. (My illustrations and instructions are written using version 7, but you should be able to comprehend with any version).

SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN!

Overall pattern:Image (Right click on pattern and save to your computer)

Part 1: Outline
Open up a new transparent canvas 200 X 200 pixels
Activate paintbrush using these settings:

Outline colors:
Bear body, arms, head, ears and paws: #705C56
Face: #A98365
Pink part of ear: #FFB3B3
Paw Pads: #7C746D
Overalls: #40455F
Buttons: #8B6C53

Use following illustrations to create your outline:

Part 2: Fill

Head:
Activate your magic wand , (Tolerance and feather set at 0).

Click inside bear head. (The 'ants' should be surrounding the inside of the head).

Floodfill with color #AC8C83.
Do NOT deselect.
Click on 'Selections' then click on 'float' (see illustration below)

Click on effects, 3D effects, cutout . Vertical 0, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 15 and change your 'shadow color' to #705C56, 'fill interior' UNchecked.

Do NOT deselect.

Go to effects, Noise, Add and Noise at 5%, Uniform

(This will be the same setting for all noise added to the different areas)

deselect
Save

Ears:
With magic wand and holding down the Shift Key, click inside of the tops of both ears. (Not in the pink area)

Flood fill with #AC8C83.

Selections, float,
Effects, 3D effect, Cutout,
Vertical -1, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 5
Shadow color # 705C56, Fill interior
UNchecked.

Effects, Noise, Add, 5%, Uniform
deselect, save.

Arms:
With magic wand and holding down the Shift Key, click inside of both arms.

Flood fill with #AC8C83.

Selections, float,
Effects, 3D effect, Cutout,
Vertical 0, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 15
Shadow color # 705C56, Fill interior
UNchecked.

Effects, Noise, Add, 5%, Uniform
deselect, save.

Paws (outer edge):
With magic wand and holding down the Shift Key, click inside of both paws (not inside paw pads.... just the outer rim area).

Flood fill with #AC8C83.

Selections, float,
Effects, 3D effect, Cutout,
Vertical 0, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 5
Shadow color # 705C56, Fill interior
UNchecked.

Effects, Noise, Add, 5%, Uniform
deselect, save.

Chest:
With magic wand, click inside of chest area.

Flood fill with #AC8C83.

Selections, float,
Effects, 3D effect, Cutout,
Vertical 4, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 15
Shadow color # 705C56, Fill interior
UNchecked.

Effects, Noise, Add, 5%, Uniform
deselect, save.

It should look like this:

Part 3: Fill
(Note: There is no noise added to the following)

Inside of ear (pink part):
With magic wand and holding down the Shift Key, click inside of pink part of ears.

Flood fill with #FFB3B3.

Selections, float,
Effects, 3D effect, Cutout,
Vertical 1, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 10
Shadow color # FF9F9F, Fill interior
UNchecked.
deselect, save.

Face:
Activate magic wand and click inside of face.

Flood fill with #C8B4A4.

Selections, float,
Effects, 3D effect, Cutout,
Vertical 3, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 15
Shadow color # A98365, Fill interior
UNchecked.
deselect, save

Buttons:
With magic wand and holding down the Shift Key, click inside of buttons.

Flood fill with #A98365.

Selections, float,
Effects, 3D effect, Cutout,
Vertical 0, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 5
Shadow color # 8B6C53, Fill interior
UNchecked.
deselect, save.

Paw Pads:
With magic wand and holding down the Shift Key, click inside of paw pads.

Flood fill with #938A82.

Selections, float,
Effects, 3D effect, Cutout,
Vertical 0, Horizontal 0, Opacity 100, Blur 10
Shadow color # 7C746D, Fill interior
UNchecked.
deselect, save.

Part 3: Fill (cont)
(Note: No noise is added to the following)

Overalls:
Open up your overall pattern.
On your color pallette, select patterns.
open up the box showing the overall pattern.
(See below)

Activate magic wand and click inside of overall area of bear.
Flood fill with the overall pattern.
deselect, save.

Shading:
Open up and activate new layer.
The following is an example of how you can shade. I'm leaving this up to you for the amount you wish.
Use color #90766E

Click on Effects, Blur, Gaussian blur, Radius 0.75
Layers,Merge, merge visible
save.

Part 4: Detail

Eyes, nose, mouth:
Add new layer.
Using the color black #000000, pixel in the mouth, nose and eyes using the following as a guide:

Layers, Merge, merge visible.

Open new layer.
color in white spot on nose (#FFFFFF). See illustration:

As Illustration states, Effects, blur, Gaussian blur, Radius: 0.50

Layers, Merge, merge visible.
Save.

Paw lines:
Open new layer.
Using the color black (#000000), pixel in the paw lines. See below:

(It's hard to read, but from top to bottom on both, the pixels are: 3,3,3,11,4,6)

Layers, Merge, merge visible.
Save.

Buttonholes:
Using color #6B5543
(2X2 pixels for each buttonhole) See below:

Save and you're all set to use TeddiBear!
