For this tutorial you will need to have basic knowledge of Paint Shop Pro. (My illustrations and instructions are written using version 7, but you should be able to comprehend with any version).

SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN!

You may use any color you choose, but for this tutorial, I will be making a white plate. Always remember your fill needs to be a lighter color than your shadow color.

Part 3: Finish
Open a NEW transparent canvas 200X200 pixels.

Activate your Plate Stand canvas, Click on 'Edit', 'Copy'.
Activate your blank canvas and Click on 'Edit', 'Paste', 'As New Layer'. Rename that layer as Plate Stand. (This places the plate stand directly in the center of the new canvas)
Activate your Plate canvas, Click on 'Edit', 'Copy'.
Activate your canvas with the new plate stand layer and Click on 'Edit', 'Paste', 'As New Layer'. Rename that layer as Plate. (This places the plate directly in the center of the canvas and on top of the Plate stand).
With your plate layer active, you may add pictures to your plate at this time. Once you have your picture(s) placed where you want them, and that layer is active, lower the opacity of the picture to about 65%.
Hide your plate stand layer. Click on 'Layers', 'Merge', 'Merge Visible'. Rename the merged layer as 'Plate'.
Unhide your plate stand layer. With the plate layer active, lower the opacity (for the time being) to about 65%. This will show the plate stand behind the plate. Activate your eraser and erase the parts of the plate that are on top of the tips of the plate stand. See example below:
Image

Raise the opacity back to 100%. Click on 'Layers', 'Merge', 'Merge Visible'.

Save and you're all set to use your Plate Stand and Plate!
