Ok! This is where the fun begins!

Bring up your petal #1. Duplicate layer, Click 'Image', then click 'Flip'. With your mover tool , move the duplicate layer up so it is opposite the original layer with only one pixel space between the two ends. (See illustration);

Image

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. Duplicate that layer. Click 'Image', then click 'Rotate'. MAKE SURE the 'ALL Layer' box is UNCHECKED. Click on the 90 and either right or left is OK....makes no difference. Layers, Merge, Merge Visible. You should have a flower now, but now we're going to fill in the middle with a little yellow. Pixel in the very center hole with color #EEC85D. Make a cross going out from the center one pixel each direction. (You will be pixeling over some pink) (See illustration);

Save image.

Bring up your petal #1. Duplicate layer, Click 'Image', then click 'Mirror'. With your mover tool, move the duplicate layer over so it is opposite the original layer overlapping the two tabs. (See illustration);

Bring up your stem. With your mover tool, move the stem down to the bottom center of your canvas.

Click Layers, Add New Raster layer.

With Color #800080, hand draw an outline of the way you want your lilac to appear. (Make it a bit smaller than your actual flower as we will be placing flower petals outside this area as well). Using your magic wand, click inside your outline and floodfill with the same color (#800080). See illustration;

Deselect (Ctrl D) and save.

Bring up both of your flowers. Activate Flower #1. Click 'Edit', 'Copy'. Activate stem canvas. Click 'Edit', Paste...as new layer. This will place flower #1 on the stem canvas. With your mover tool, move the flower on top of your shape. Click on 'Edit' and paste as new layer again and move that new flower on top of your shape. Continue to do that until all of your shape is covered in flower #1. (See example)

Click Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.

Activate flower #2. Click 'Edit', 'Copy'. Activate stem canvas. Click 'Edit', Paste...as new layer. This will place flower #2 on the stem canvas. With your mover tool, move the flower on of the first flowers. Click on 'Edit' and paste as new layer again and move that new flower on top of your flowers. Continue to do that until you get your lilac cluster the way you like. Click Layers, Merge, Merge visible.

Bring up your leaves. Activate one of your leaves. Click 'Edit', 'Copy'. Activate stem canvas. Click 'Edit', Paste...as new layer. With your mover tool, place it where you like. (You can even move your leaf layer beneath your merged layer to have it showing behind the stem. Do this with each leaf. You can duplicate, mirror them and place them whereever you choose. Once you have your lilac the way you want, Click Layers, Merge, Merge visible.

Save as a gif and you're finished!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! :D
